What this is
For the Playa connects the camps, artists, and volunteers who build the playa's free gifts with donors who want to fund them.
Money for the projects that get by on whatever's left after dues. The gifts everyone uses usually run on scraps; this is a way to fund them directly.
A standard for well-funded projects, so funding follows openness. What gets funded here is open to anyone who walks up — and it's checked.

The Open Gift Standard
Every listed project agrees to the Open Gift Standard:
- Open to anyone who walks up
- Findable, with posted hours
- Marked with a standard placard — no logos, no donor names
- Separated from anything camp-only
- Attested annually, with photos
Our nonprofit partner
Every gift is held by a 501(c)(3) public charity in Boulder, Colorado, and goes only to the project you choose. We'll name our partner before giving opens.
What we're not
For the Playa is an independent community project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Burning Man Project. Nothing here is for sale, and nothing on playa will ever carry a donor's name or logo.
